Four versus one asymmetrical co-op and competitive play is the order of the day. Three parts sneaking around and two parts chaotic or – at times – planned action as the hunters go up against the beast.

Looking for a Borderlands title on your nex-gen PlayStation 4 or Xbox One?  Well sadly this is not it; however, it is a new IP from Gearbox Software, creators of the Borderlands series.  Obviously Battleborn is what the next-gen experts at Gearbox have been working on.

As a title, Evolve has had a harder time than Darwin at a Creationist convention, but somehow, through the demise of THQ and subsequent acquisition by 2K Games, developer Turtle Rock has crawled from the primordial soup and produced a layered multiplayer game of hunt, hunted and plain good fun.

[UPDATE] Added the latest mysterious trailer for XCOM: The Bureau.  We get to understand more about the mysterious Bureau, the forerunner to XCOM, that infamous organisation that protects us from Alien threats.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown is an enjoyable experience, and soon one that can be experienced by millions more people.  The release date for iOS version has now been set, and here are some screen shots.

This game has been through the development wringer, first appearing as a derided first person style shooter a few years back.  However, 2K Games, publishers of the BioShock series, has managed to keep things getting too astray, causing too much damage to the coveted XCOM brand so successfully rebooted recently.  The Bureau manages to give XCOM strategy fans the chance to get into the alien action.

Coming next month is the fourth main DLC package for the ever-enjoyable Borderlands 2.  We had some time with Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep, and it was hard to wipe the smile from our face.

The third in the BioShock franchise hits shelves next week; one of the shifts in the game-play from previous games is that BioShock Infinite features an AI controlled companion in the form of Elizabeth.  In this video the team at Irrational Games shows the behind the scenes thinking and acting that went into the creation of the character.

For four hours we have spent time in the mysterious and dangerous floating city of Columbia.  Riding sky rails, playing with magical Vigors and trying to get our head around the ideology, iconography and, well, weaponry of BioShock Infinite.
